“People forget how fast you did a job - but they remember how well you did it. ”

This is certainly true. I was told by a very experienced headhunter that “How you manage and discharge your Toastmasters’ duties and responsibilities will reflect your attitude and character in real life.”
Cheers.

Hi everyone,
I was doing my daily routine on continuous learning when something jolted my memory. I was asked this question by my former Toastmasters club’s SAA when he was doing the icebreaker round the table. There were many, many different answers. I was caught by surprise, as the rest of the audience when he reveal the true meaning & significiance of this question:
“What would you do if you suddenly have an extra $86,400?”
If you are game enough to take up the challenge, please share your answer/ opinion with me via tmcs@jangworld.com offline. There’ll be a surprise for the answer which comes closest to its original meaning.
Stay tuned.
Cheers.

Hi everyone,
I’d received quite a few enquiries from both guests & members on the surprise video I’d showed during my Special Talk on 18/5.
I’m pleased to annouce that the iLearningGlobal Corporate Team has managed to transfer the video file to me. For those who are interested, here’s the YouTube link when I get to be in the same video with John McLelland, CEO & Founder of iLearningGlobal.tv and, yes, Brian Tracy who’s now the Chief Learning Officer of iLearningGlobal.tv:
URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTnv6yA6WNs
What’s the chance of filming a video with Brian Tracy himself and for the world’s best known and most successful motivational speaker, author and coach to introduce you as his business partner?
Enjoy the video. Cheers.

21st May 2009
Dear Fellow Members,
I am posting this on behalf of our VPE (Vice-President of Education), Jeffrey Williams.
Toastmasters Club of Singapore will be organizing an Inter Debate competition on 1st June 2009 during our Chapter meeting
To make it fun and interesting, we will have the competition as close as possible to the national debate championships. Winners will walk away with the Team Champions’ trophy and the audience can also look forward to winning prizes.
We will need to form 2 teams by this Friday (22nd May 2009) to propose and oppose. The 2 teams will be given a week or more to prepare and research on the topic. Due to time constraints, please note there will not be any prepared speeches or table topics on 01st June 2009.
The motion of the day:
“In the 21st Century, men are less reliable than women as leaders”
To make it very challenging, there will be equal number of men and women in each team.
Interested parties, do email Jeffrey Williams (aws100@singnet.com.sg) by Friday (22nd May 2009) if you would like to propose or oppose. You will be given a week or so to prepare the topic. Appreciate very much if you could also appoint a leader in the group as the last speaker to round up the groups’ stand on the proposed or opposed motion.
A panel of judges will be appointed to judge on the proceedings and decide on the winners. There will also be the award for the best debater which will be decided by the audience.
For more information, please feel free to contact Jeffrey directly @ 96319504 or email (aws100@singnet.com.sg).
Guests are still welcome to join us; the usual guest fess still apply.
Cheers.
